Wayne Hemingway and Jack Hemingway work together at HemingwayDesign, which specialises in
affordable and social design. Current projects include KiosKiosk. This project is in conjunction with Super Contemporary at The Design Museum. The project provides rent free spaces throughout London for emerging designers. Wayne Hemingway co-founded the acclaimed fashion label Red or Dead, which was sold in 1999 after 21 years. Wayne was awarded an MBE for services to design in 2006. Both
share a passion for soul music and regularly DJ throughout the UK.

July 31st 5:30pm - 11:30pm Assemblage promises to be the biggest event held at John Jones in 2009 showcasing work from invited contemporary designers, artists, bespoke makers, publishers, musicians and performers Assemblage will be taking over the John Jones site which occupies 4 Warehouses in Finsbury Park housing our wood mill, printing studio, 4 exhibition spaces, and our live music Shutter Space. Assemblage brings together some of the most exciting talent in fine art, design and applied arts under one event.

Exhibitors Include:

Squint who will be showing at Assemblage has now launched it’s Heritage Collection exclusively in Harrods, the new range is looking back to the very finest of historical English design, illustrating the elegance and grace of furniture of the 18th century. Furniture frames are constructed by hand with hard wood, dowelled joints and hand carved mahogany legs.

This young designer re uses furniture and textiles painting them with images inspired by her sea side hometown of Margate.

Jo Whiting works with porcelain to create exquisite large scale chandeliers. The delicate textured porcelain strips are layered and stitched together with wire. Her work has been featured in various publications including British Vogue.
